Columbia County Fire Rescue has obtained new sonar equipment for its rescue boat to reduce search times and assist divers in rescue and recovery efforts.

"If we can speed that process up. If we can limit the downtime for our divers in the water, with our capabilities, it's a big blessing for us to be able to do that," Training Chief David Dickenson told WJBF.
