The Borough of Brookhaven Volunteer Fire Department, Delaware County, PA, has taken delivery of a 2016 KME Severe Service heavy rescue pumper. The apparatus is equipped with a four door, eight occupant, climate-controlled cab with a raised roof and full height rear doors. It also has Bostrom firefighter seats. It's powered by a 500 hp Cummins ISX-15L diesel engine and an Allison 3000 EVS-P automatic transmission. To fight fire, it has a Hale DSD150-23X, 2,000-gallon, single-stage pump, with a Trident air prime system and a 500-gallon UPF Poly Tank III water tank. It also has a Kussmaul auto-eject battery conditioning system, LED compartment lighting, slide-out tool trays, a roll-out canopy and Amdor roll-up doors. Other equipment includes a six-bottle 6,000 psi air cascade system with Resolve Specialty Products two-bottle fill station. It also has a Will-Burt Night Scan light tower, Stokes rescue basket, high-rise packs, rope, tarps, Pro Pak, Hurst extrication tools, oil dry chute, cribbing, saws, fans, forcible entry tools, and a rear slide-out tool board, It features a rear facing camera, roof top compartments, confined space gear, two Hannay electric reels, water rescue gear, air chisel, hazmat booms, Milwaukee tools, air bags, three Hannay hydraulic reels, Junk Yard Dog struts, Pioneer LED scene lights, front bumper discharge, and a Federal Q2B mechanical & electronic sirens.
