The Columbus Division of Fire has taken delivery of a Pierce Ascendant aerial ladder truck.

The Columbus Division of Fire has taken delivery of a Pierce Ascendant 107-foot aerial truck that's built on an Enforcer chassis.

The rig is powered by a 550-hp Detroit Diesel DD13 engine and equipped with tandem axles and differential lockout for better traction and braking.

The Ascendant heavy-duty ladder is constructed of steel with 107 feet of vertical reach, 100 feet horizontal and 750-pounds tip weight. The ladder is pre-piped and fitted with an Akron nozzle with remote control.

The lighting package includes Whelen emergency lighting and Fire Research scene lights.

Additional features include: 15kW Harrison MPC Hydraulic Generator, two 200-foot Hannay electric cord reels, and two Stabilizer placement cameras.
