This week's unique rig include a high-water/flood rescue unit, a 3,500-gallon tanker, a short-wheelbase tanker and a top-mount pumper for Canada.

The Hillsborough, NJ, Volunteer Fire Company #1 operates this high-water rescue vehicle built by Acela Truck Company on the Acela Monterra chassis. The 17’ x 8.5’ aluminum high-water/flood rescue body has a capacity for 22 with integrated stairs, safety railings/gates, fold-down aluminum seating, removable rear safety rails, two wheelchair tie-downs and a tuck-away-style 3,000-lb. liftgate with 60” x 84” aluminum platform.

Pierce built this 100-foot mid-mount aerial platform on the Enforcer chassis for the Horry County, SC, Fire Department with a Waterous S100C20D single-stage pump and 300-gallon UPF Poly Tank III water tank. It is equipped with 911 Seats, Kussmaul auto-eject battery conditioner, Trident air prime, Gortite shutters, Federal Q2B mechanical siren and Firetech Hi-Viz LED scene lighting.

Ludwigs Corner Fire Co. No. 1 in Glennmoore, PA, worked with Sutphen for this 3,500-gallon tanker with a Hale Qmax 2,000-gpm and a 30-gallon foam tank. It  has a 3/16-inch extruded aluminum body with 174 cu. ft. total compartment space with ROM roll-up compartment doors, an 18-inch formed steel bumper and a Zico extended down ladder rack. Rosenbauer built this enclosed, top-mount pumper for the North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada that is powered by a 380-hp Cummins L9 engine. On a Commander chassis, the rig has a Rosenbauer 1,250-gpm N55 pump, 750-gallon water tank, FoamPro Class A/B foam system and warning lights by Whelen. Click here for more.

Midwest Fire built this 2,000-gallon tanker, with an overall length of 25' 2" for the Rome, ME, Fire Department on a Freightliner M2-106 chassis. It has a stainless steel swivel Newton 10-inch square dump valve with a 36” telescoping chute at the rear, a “Tip-Down” portable tank carrier with 2,100-gallon portable tank and the all All-Poly body has ROM anodized aluminum roll-up doors. Click here for more.
