A driver who fled the scene after a collision with a fire apparatus in a northern Florida community this past weekend has been located and charged.

The Florahome-Grandin Volunteer Fire Department in Putnam County provided an update to a previous post on its Facebook page after the female driver was found with help from community tips.

According to the department, crews with Engine 142 had finished responding to a crash scene Saturday night and were sitting at an intersection when a middle-aged woman crashed into their apparatus before fleeing the scene in her vehicle.

No firefighters were injured in the wreck, but the county-owned apparatus is now out of service.

"Our only Class A fire engine will now be out of service until further notice," the Facebook post reads. "We will have to use our water tanker truck to fight house fires."
