One Oakalla firefighter is in intensive care in stable but critical condition following an apparatus accident while responding to an emergency call over the weekend.

Two Texas firefighters were injured—one critically—in an apparatus accident while responding to a call Saturday.

Both Oakalla firefighters were hospitalized following the crash, according to the department. While one firefighter was released Sunday, another is in intensive care in stable but critical condition.

No details were released concerning how the accident happened. The names of the firefighters have not been released "out of courtesy for the families," the department said.

A GoFundMe campaign has been started for the injured firefighters. As of Monday morning, it has earned more than $500 of its $20,000 goal.
