OH Firefighters, Civilian Injured in Apparatus Accident

Three West Licking firefighters were taken to the hospital after a car collided with their apparatus in Pataskala as the first responders were responding to a call.

Three Ohio firefighters and a civilian were injured while responding to a call when their apparatus was struck by another vehicle Saturday.

The incident involving a West Licking apparatus occurred at about 3:30 p.m. in Pataskala, WBNS-TV reports. Firefighters were headed to another emergency at the time of the collision.

Three firefighters were taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries and their conditions were not immediately known. The driver of the other vehicle also was injured and taken to the hospital.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the crew and the other driver involved in the rollover accident …," the West Licking Firefighters Association stated an online update.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Pataskala police.
