Two Georgia firefighters were injured when their apparatus was involved in a rollover collision while responding to an emergency Tuesday.

The accident happened at around 6 p.m. at an intersection in Covington as Newton firefighters were headed to a fire call, The Covington News reports. A car was T-boned when it pulled out in front of the apparatus, sending both vehicles off the road and overturning the fire rig.

The impact of the crash dislodged SCBA equipment inside the apparatus, which struck a firefighter on the head. Another firefighter also suffered an undisclosed injury in the accident, and it's not clear if anyone else was hurt in the incident.

The incident shut down traffic in both directions for several hours. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
