Coroner: Driver Killed in Crash with OH Apparatus was Intoxicated

May 16—The Lorain man who died from injuries suffered when his sedan collided head-on with a Lorain fire truck was intoxicated when the accident occurred, according to the Lorain County Coroner's Office.
Jose Rivera-Texidor Jr., 35, was driving March 27 when his vehicle ran head-on into the fire truck, authorities said.
Toxicology reports stated Rivera-Texidor's blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.151 when he died as a result of his injuries, according to the Coroner's Office.
The legal blood alcohol concentration limit is 0.08 while driving in the state.
The fire truck was traveling with lights and sirens when the accident occurred, Lorain police said.
Two firefighters traveling in the truck at the time of the accident weren't harmed.
