OH Apparatus Collision Claims Civilian's Life

A crash involving a Lorain Fire Department vehicle has claimed the life of a civilian driver.

A head-on collision involving a civilian vehicle and a Lorain fire truck has claimed the life of a civilian driver.

The crash between the vehicles took place as the fire truck had its lights and siren operating and the vehicles crashed head-on taking the life of the sedan driver, the Moring Journal reported.

“Last night there was a fatal injury to a civilian as a result of an accident with one of our fire trucks. We have no more information at this time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the individual,” the Lorain Professional Firefighters Local 267 said in a Facebook post.

A fire department official told Morning Journal, “I can’t comment on it at this time. It’s a very sad and unfortunate thing that happened last night.”
