FL Ambulance in Head-On Collision on Way to Call

Sept. 30, 2020
"Early indications appear that the driver which caused the accident was pulling around the vehicle in front of them," which had pulled over for the oncoming North Port ambulance, according to the city.

A Florida city is asking residents to be more alert on the roads following a head-on collision with an ambulance.

The accident involved North Port Fire Department's Rescue 84 that was responding to an EMS call Tuesday afternoon, the city stated in an online post. That's when another vehicle collided with the ambulance.

"Early indications appear that the driver which caused the accident was pulling around the vehicle in front of them, which had pulled to the side of the road because of the oncoming rescue," the city stated.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the crash. Everyone in the accident only suffered minor injuries, but the city didn't detail how many fire department members and civilians were involved in the incident.

"Please try and be more aware of emergency vehicles," the city added.
