OK Ambulances Involved in Two Separate Accidents

An ambulance crashed after hydroplaning on a slick roadway in Tulsa, injuring the driver and two passengers, and a Broken Arrow ambulance was involved in a multi-vehicle accident.

Two ambulances were involved in separate accidents in Oklahoma on Monday.

Three people were injured after an ambulance hydroplaned on a slick roadway and crashed on Tulsa's Sand Springs Expressway, the Tulsa World reports. The accident happened at around 5 p.m., and the crash caused the ambulance to overturn several times, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The 32-year-old ambulance driver suffered internal injuries, and two passengers also suffered internal injuries, as well as head, arm and leg injuries. All three were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Later Monday, a Broken Arrow ambulance was involved in a multi-vehicle accident along Interstate 44 in Tulsa, KOTV-TV reports. The incident happened shortly before 6:45 p.m., and the interstate was closed until about 9 p.m. as crews cleaned up the wreckage.

At least one person was injured in the accident, but not details were released. It's unclear if the injured person was in the ambulance or if the ambulance was transporting a patient.
