A patient in a Pasco County Fire Rescue ambulance was killed Tuesday night when the rig was involved in a crash enroute to the hospital.
The ambulance travelled through a red light and was hit broadside by a Toyota Corolla, according to WFTS.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported the ambulance had its emergency equipment activated when the crash occurred about 7:24 p.m. in Zephyrhills.
The four EMS personnel weren't injured, but the 78-year-old woman they were treating died. The driver of the car sustained minor injuries but refused to be transported.
