VA Ambulance Catches Fire Transporting Patient
A Virginia ambulance caught fire Tuesday ast it was carrying a patient.
Flames began engulfing the hood and roof of the ambulance, which was part of a privately-operated fleet, when it reached the Interstate 66 and Route 28 interchange in Centreville, WTOP-FM reports. The ambulance crew and the patient were able to safely get out of the unit, and the patient was taken to the hospital in another ambulance.
Fire crews were able to put out the fire, and no one was injured in the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
