A Florida ambulance flipped over on its side following a collision with a tractor-trailer Tuesday.
The accident involving a Jackson Fire Rescue ambulance happened at 10 a.m. at the intersection of New Kings Road and Edgewood Avenue, WJXT-TV reports. The unit was on its way to an emergency call with its lights and sirens on, and no patients were inside at the time.
As the ambulance entered the intersection, it was struck by the tractor-trailer, knocking the apparatus on its side. Nearby construction workers who heard the crash were able to help the two firefighters in the ambulance.
The firefighters were taken to the hospital as a precaution, WJXT added.
