Duplin County, NC, Ambulance Driver Charged after Crash with Rig

The crash near Albertson, NC, left the EMS crew, their patient and the truck driver injured.

A crash between a Duplin County ambulance and a rig full of chickens left an EMS crew with serious injuries.

The ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital without its lights and siren activated when it turned left in front of the tractor-trailer, according to WITN.

The truck driver was unable to avoid the collision.

The EMS personnel were flown to a local trauma center with serious injuries, while the patient and truck driver were transported for treatment. All are expected to recover.

The ambulance driver was charged with failure to yield.
