Arrest Made after Stolen OR Fire Vehicle Recovered
A person was arrested after a water rescue vehicle was stolen from an Oregon fire station while the crew was asleep.
The thief crawled through an unlocked window at Albany Fire Station 13 on Sunday and was able to drive off with the emergency vehicle, according to NBC16com.
"We left a window in our weight room unlocked and a man made entry through it," the department shared in a Facebook post. "He had the intention to steal a vehicle and he succeeded."
Police found the damaged truck about 40 miles away in Eugene. It had front end damage and was tagged with graffiti.
"Our outcome could have been much worse," the department said. "The risk of them encountering someone in our 'home' gives us pause."
Police made the arrest in the case on Tuesday.
