NY Fire Engine Stolen from Incident

July 15, 2022
A Buffalo Fire Department rig was damaged after it was stolen from an EMS call and the thief drove it with the brakes on.

The Buffalo Fire department responded to an EMS call shortly after midnight, only to have the rig stolen from the scene.

NBC 2 Buffalo reports that the apparatus was recovered a few blocks away.

It's believed the thief failed to release the brake before driving off, thus damaging the brake system.

The suspect was taken into custody by Buffalo Police.
