Roachdale, IN, Community Fire Protection District has taken delivery of a new pumper built on a Freightliner cab and chassis by Midwest Fire. The apparatus,based on an M2-106 chassis, is powered by a Cummins L9 350-hp engine and an Allison transmission. It is equipped with a Hale RSD 1,250-gpm pump with a top-mount control panel and a 1,000-gallon polypropylene tank. Other equipment includes Whelen warning and scene lights, an Elkhart Brass Vulcan deck gun, a SmartFOAM system with a 20-gallon foam cell, a hose reel with 200-feet of 1-inch hose, and a Kussmaul air and battery conditioner with an auto eject system.
