Three Mansfield firefighters, who were wearing seatbelts, are OK after their engine was hit by a car while blocking an incident.
Engine 5 was positioned to protect crews who were working at a crash site on Highway 360.
After a car crashed into the rig, the firefighters ran to help the driver, who was transported to a hospital in stable condition, according to a statement from Mansfield fire officials.
"Roadway incidents are among the most dangerous environments for emergency responders. We understand that lane closures can be frustrating, but they are necessary to protect responders and the people they are helping," they wrote.
