Oberlin, OH, Fire Department has taken delivery of a Midwest Fire side-control tanker-pumper built on a Freightliner 114SD chassis. It is powered by a Cummins L9 400-hp engine and an Allison 3000 EVS transmission. To fight fire it has a 3,000-gallon APR polypropylene tank and a Waterous CSU 2,000-gpm split-shaft pump.It is equipped with three Newton electric 10-inch square dump valves, a Zico electric portable tank carrier with a 3,500-gallon portable tank. a Federal Signal electric siren, Whelen warning lights, and a Kussmaul battery conditioner.
