A Napoleon Volunteer Fire Department apparatus suffered significant damage when it ended up on its side following an accident that also involved a Marion Township Fire Department apparatus.

An Indiana firefighter was injured in a rollover crash involving an apparatus while responding to a call early Tuesday.

The accident happened at about 6:15 a.m. at a Ripley County intersection as a Napoleon Fire Department tanker was headed to a structure fire, WSCH-FM reports. That's when the lights from an oncoming Marion Township Fire Department apparatus obscured the Napoleon firefighter's vision and caused him to drive off the road.

The firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and eventually released. The Napoleon tanker suffered significant damage in the rollover crash, the department stated in an online update.
