Update: Woodland, PA, Firefighters Recovering after Engine/Tanker Crash
Two BJW firefighters injured in a fire truck crash Thursday morning have been released from the hospital.
They were reponding to a house fire when the engine tanker slid off the icy road as it was coming down a hill. It crashed into a tree and left the driver pinned.
He was extricated by firefighters from neighboring departments, WTAJ reported, adding both firefighters were transported for treatment.
The 2015 fire engine received heavy damage to the front driver’s side of the vehicle.
Officers are working to borrow a truck from a neighboring department.
