A North Carolina fire apparatus and two other vehicles were struck by gunfire, which injured one person Monday.
The shooting happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. near an Exxon gas station, WCNC-TV reports. Multiple shots were fired, and they struck a Charlotte Fire Department apparatus, a Jeep Cherokee and another vehicle.
A person in the Cherokee was wounded and taken to the hospital with injuries that were considered life-threatening. No Charlotte firefighters were injured in the incident.
Although the shooting is still under investigation, police don't believe it was random, but authorities don't think the fire apparatus was a target, according to WCNC. No information has been released concerning possible suspects in the case.
