The two Horse Creek, GA, firefighters picked up a donated pumper in North Carolina and were driving it home when the apparatus rolled over.

Two firefighters were injured Friday when the donated pumper they were delivering back to their fire station in Georgia rolled over on Interstate 95 near Hope Mills, SC.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. next Exit 41 after the firefighters from the Horse Creek Volunteer Fire Department in Lumber City, GA, picked up a donated pumper.

According to CBS17.com, initial reports indicate that the apparatus suffered a blown tire, leading causing it to roll over on the officer's side.

Crews from Cotton Volunteer Fire Department Station 4 needed to extricate the firefighters.

One firefighter was flown to the hospital and the other was transported by ambulance.

The firefighters picked up former Engine 122 from the Churchill Five Forks Volunteer Fire Department in Warren County, NC, and were returning home when the crash happened.

Both firefighters were released early Saturday morning.
