FDNY Adds 18 Names to 9/11 Memorial Wall

The FDNY on Thursday added 18 more names to its memorial wall honoring members who have died from illnesses related to the 9/11 response.

The number of fire department personnel who have succumbed to illnesses related to rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center now stands at 177, and the FDNY says it expects that number to eventually surpass the 343 firefighters who died on Sept. 11, 2001.
