Former N.Y. Fire Captain Pleads Guilty to Stealing Meds

A Camillus firefighter pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges for stealing drugs in hope to stay out of jail.

Allen Harmon, 24, was arrested with along with former fire chief Douglas Groesbeck earlier this year on a number of charges. They include misconduct and petit larceny.  

Harmon will avoid jail time if he stays out of trouble for year, according to Syracuse.com. Groesbeck took the same deal in October.

Harmon, a former fire captain, admitted repeatedly driving an emergency vehicle while he was under the influence of oxycodone and other prescription drugs during in 2014, according to an earlier report.

The two admitted to dividing Concerta pills they found in another firefighter's bag. Harmon allowed another firefighter, who provided him with more drugs, time off.

The two also told police that they would smoke marijuana on the firehouse roof.
