When a waitress picked up the tab for two N.J. firefighters in July little did she know that they would pay it back in a big way.
Liz Woodward wrote a note on the check of Burlington County Firefighters Paul Hullings and Tim Young who had been battling a warehouse fire for 12 hours.
Hearing that Woodward was trying to raise money for a wheelchair-accessible van for her father, the firefighters stepped up to the plate to help, NJ.com reported.
They spread the word through the community, and many pitched in to help.
"When we heard about Liz's efforts to help her father and the incredible support she's received from her community, we were deeply inspired and wanted to pay forward her kindness," Pat Kemp, Mobility Ventures Executive Vice President told reporters.
Kemp said the company decided to donate a fully wheelchair-accessible MV-1 to the Woodward family.
