A Charlotte Fire and Rescue firefighter has been suspended after facing charges of setting his children's hands on fire.

Levi Dykema, 28, told police that he covered his 5-, 7- and 10-year-olds' hands with hand sanitizer and ignited them, according to local television station WCAX

He told investigators he was teaching the children about poor decision-making and the flammability of the product.

Ferrisburgh police said the children were not burned and called them lucky.

Dykema, who pleaded not guilty to reckless endangerment, posted the video on social media.
