A Pitcairn, PA, firefighter was arrested following a fight between several people at Monday night's borough council.

A Pitcairn volunteer firefighter was arrested Monday night following an altercation among several people in Pitcairn, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV.

The altercation came after borough council voted to disband Pitcairn #2 Volunteer Fire Department during a heated meeting, according to the television station.

WPXI-TV didn’t name the firefighter. The investigation is ongoing.

Pitcairn has two volunteer fire departments. VFD #2 was set to be disbanded at the end of the year, WPXI-TV said.
