CA Firefighters Celebrate Baby Boom with Photo Shoot

Sept. 24, 2019
Nine babies were born to Rancho Cucamonga firefighters between March and July, and parents posed with their children—and their gear—to welcome the new additions.

A California fire district was flooded with new additions over several months earlier this year that the firefighters there arranged a special photo shoot to welcome all of them.

Nine babies were born to Rancho Cucamonga Fire District firefighters between March and July, the department said. To celebrate, parents and kids posed for a variety of photos, including one image that found a unique way to use turnout gear as bedding.

"We are thrilled to see our RCFD fire family keep growing!" the district stated in an online update showing off the photographs.

This flurry of births included some first-timers to the child-rearing game, as well as few who have been around the parenting block a few times. Gabrielle Costello, a department spokeswoman who also gave birth to one of the nine babies, told CNN that members didn't coordinate Rancho Cucamonga's baby boom.

But these births do mean that her daughter already has eight other kids her own age that she can play with, Costello added.
