A Burnet volunteer firefighter has been arrested after surveillance footage caught him stealing $210 from a coin machine at a car wash using department equipment.

A member of the Burnet Volunteer Fire Department has been arrested after using department gear to steal $210 from a coin machine at a car wash.

KXAN News reports that volunteer firefighter Casey Marre, 29, has been charged with criminal mischief and was booked into the Travis County Jail on Friday.

The surveillance footage released by police and embedded below shows a man using a large device on the machine, which was later identified as a hydraulic tool commonly used by fire crews in vehicle extrication rescues. The incident occurred on the morning of Jan. 17.
