Four people were injured in a rollover car crash Sunday afternoon on Interstate 93 in Medford, two of whom had to be freed from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life device, authorities said.
Firefighters responded around 3:45 p.m. to a report of the single-car crash on I-93, north of Exit 24, according to the Medford Fire Department. The vehicle had rolled over.
Two individuals, the driver and the front seat passenger, were trapped inside the car when firefighters arrived at the scene. The two passengers in the back seat had freed themselves already and were on the side of the road, the department said.
First responders then freed the two trapped individuals from the car using the Jaws of Life, according to the department.
All four individuals were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with injuries that aren’t believed to be life-threatening, authorities said.
