Dayton International Airport firefighters pull hoses from their crash truck Oct. 5, 2021, to advance on a live training fire at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
The Dayton International Airport is facing possible fines from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for failure to meet operational requirements.
A report from Dayton Daily News states the FAA is looking to fine the Dayton Airport for “allegedly allowing seven flights to arrive and depart on Feb. 13, 2020, while (James) M. Cox International Airport did not have adequate aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicles in service.”
The FAA listed the civil penalty as $167,343.
In addition to not meeting FAA requirements, the airport failed to notify the required agencies of the shortage required by the Airport Certification Manual.
Officials from Dayton have 30 days to reply to the FAA once they receive the enforcement documents.
