Douglas County Fire District 2 East Wenatchee recently released documents showing captain Seth Ellis and firefighter Josh Bollinger were suspended in October after admitting they had provided fake vaccination documents to their supervisors.

Both Ellis and Bollinger were summoned for disciplinary hearings on charges of fraud and unprofessional conduct, but instead, the two men resigned from the fire district Oct. 27, according to NCW LIFE Channel.

The firefighters were able to obtain their documents from a local Walgreens employee who has since been fired for allegedly providing the card but not the COVID vaccine.

Both Ellis and Bollinger were scheduled for a pre-disciplinary meeting in October but resigned from the department.

A written statement Ellis called his actions a mistake he deeply regretted, and said they were based on “not wanting to risk my own long term health issues because I was forced to receive medicine I did not need or want.” “The possibility of suffering a long-term side effect from one of the three vaccines is not in my opinion a minor inconvenience but a large consequence I would be stuck with, possibly forever.”
