Police determined that Jacksonville Fire Rescue Engineer Brian Albright stole good at least 27 times from three stores, sometimes while on-duty.
A Jacksonville firefighter was arrested for allegedly stealing products from grocery stores on multiple times.
A store contacted the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office last month reporting at least three incidents where Brian Albright, 51, did not scan all purchases properly, according to Action News Jax.
An investigation found that the thefts happened at least 27 times at Winn-Dixie stores, with over 100 items being taken without pay.
The TV station reported that Albright was on-duty and in uniform during several of the incidents.
The sheriff’s office tapped the Integrity Unit to investigate the incident because Albright is a city employee.
Albright was booked into the Duval County Jail for petit theft and later bonded out.
Fire officials told Action News Jax, “Engineer Albright has been removed from the field and will be suspended pending termination.”
