Brevard County, FL, Fire Lieutenant Charged with Stealing Credit Cards from Fellow Responders

The credit cards of two Brevard County Fire Rescue firefighters were stolen from the station while they were on a call. 

A Brevard County fire lieutenant is facing multiple charges after he stole credit cards from fellow responders who were on a call.

The thefts, that occurred at Brevard County Fire Rescue Station 44 in Cocoa resulted in more than $1,000 in unauthorized charges, according to The Space Coast Rocket. 

Deputies, who saw Wesley McCormick on surveillance video from a Sunoco and Publix, took him into custody Friday.

McCormick, a Brevard County Fire Rescue lieutenant, purchased lottery and scratch-off cards and other items at the grocery store.

He was charged with fraudulent use of identification information from a first responder, fraudulent use of a credit card, obtaining a credit card by fraudulent means, petit theft in one case and grand theft in the other.
