FEMA Awards $648 Million in Fire Act Grants to Bolster Staff, Enhance Equipment

Across the country, 1,400 fire and rescue companies and 200 other organizations received grants.

FEMA has awarded $648 millionin grants to 1,600 fire and rescue companies and other organizations across the country. 

“Firefighters and other first responders are everyday heroes, helping their neighbors and communities when they need it most. Through this grant funding, FEMA is building the capability of these local organizations to respond to disasters and emergencies. By empowering fire departments to get the staff, training and equipment they need, FEMA is strengthening the resilience of American communities nationwide," said FEMA Administrator Cameron Hamilton.
