New Monthly Podcast by RESCUE Intellitech Focuses on Firefighter Cancer, Safety
The Decon Exchange, a new weekly video podcast centered on one of the most urgent problems facing the fire service—firefighter cancer—was unveiled by Rescue Intellitech.
Rescue Intellitech, Inc.'s marketing director, Kristi Elrod, served as the host. Firefighters, fire service executives, researchers, safety experts and others addressing occupational exposure and cancer among firefighters will be represented at the Decon Exchange.
Every episode will examine the actual experiences of firefighters battling with cancer and exposure to hazardous pollutants, as well as the continuous initiatives to lower those exposures and establish better working conditions for firefighters.
The difficulties firefighters encounter prior to, during, and following emergency calls, the significance of efficient decontamination, avoiding cross-contamination and lowering exposure to carcinogens and developing the fire service's cancer prevention culture will all be covered.
“Firefighters run toward danger when everyone else is running away,” said Kristi Elrod, marketing director of Rescue Intellitech. “The Decon Exchange gives the fire service a platform to have honest conversations about cancer, exposure and the steps we can take to better protect firefighters throughout their careers.”
Every month, Rescue Intellitech's digital and social media platforms will release a fresh episode of The Decon Exchange.
