ISFSI, UL to host Fighting Basement Fires Observation Day

May 30, 2017
ISFSI and UL will conduct a series of basement fires to better understand how to implement size-up, flow path control, and initial exterior fire attack for future training.

In partnership with UL Firefighter Safety Research Institute, the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) is conducting a series of basement fires to better understand how to implement size-up, flow path control, and initial exterior fire attack.  This study goes beyond what the research studies have done in the past, in terms of the size of the basement, and access (or lack of access) to the basement.  The outcome of the study will be an ISFSI Training Program.

There will be an observation day on July 13th at Delaware County Emergency Services Training Center in Sharon Hill, PA, where on lookers can see one of the fires that are being conducted as part of this study.  Learn about what has been done to date from the researchers and gain insight from the ISFSI instructors on how to implement the study results on the fireground.

There is no cost to attend as an observer. Register here.
