Orlando firefighter-paramedic Joshua Granada, who was one of the first to respond to the Pulse nightclub shooting and was also named Firefighter of the Year, has been fired after secretly recording a medical call in August and then playing it back for colleagues at his station.

The alleged recording reportedly involved an Orlando city commissioner, and Granada, who plans to appeal his firing, says he only made it to protect himself.
