NC Departments Face Closure Without More Funding

Nine volunteer fire departments have sent letters to Person County leaders seeking more money, saying if they don't receive the funds they may not be able to remain in operation.

The nine departments received around $670,000 to split for the fiscal year, but firefighters say they need an additional $500,000 to take care of basic needs.
