The FDNY Bravest Baseball Team played a charity game against Team Ukraine in Brooklyn on Saturday.
For the Ukrainian players, it was much more than a game.
"It's what we can do to help our nation," one player told News 12. "Guys on the team have parents on the front line."
Funds from the game were donated to “Go to Bat for Ukraine” which assists in the rebuilding of youth sport complexes and baseball fields.
The FDNY Pulaski Association was able present a donation to the team before the first pitch.
The FDNY posted images from the game on its Facebook page.
