Three Miami-Dade Firefighters Resign Amid Fatal Training Fire Investigation

The Miami-Dade firefighter-father of the EMT who died during a training fire was among those who resigned.

Three members of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, including the father of a son who died during a June training exercise, have resigned.

Firefighters Franciso A. Camero, Steven Colon and Rafael Fernandez's resigned Oct. 30, Miami-Dade County's Chief of Public Safety James Reyes told NBC Miami.

On June 21, Fabian Camero was seriously injured in the training exercise. The 28-year-old son of Francisco Camero, an EMT but not a fire department employee, or firefighter, died the next day.

An investigation into the incident, which included training for a group of international firefighters, was opened and continues. 

The television station reached out to the three, but they did not respond to requests for comments.
