"I hit somebody," Comstock Township, MI, Deputy Fire Chief told Deputies

    Comstock Township Deputy Chief Michael Dyer also admitted to consuming three drinks before striking a girl.

    "All the kids were in the road. I hit somebody. I've been drinking, I just came from the bar."

    That's what Comstock Township Deputy Chief Michael Dyer told a deputy with the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office on June 22.

    The girl he hit during the incident required surgery after hand, leg and arm injuries, according to WWMT.

    He, who admitted to having three gin and tonics, reportedly blew a .15, the station reported, adding it obtained the video after filing  a Freedom of Information request.

    Charges are pending against Dyer, who is on administrative leave from Comstock Township Fire and Rescue.

Dyer, 63, is accused of driving drunk and hitting a young girl with his pickup truck on H Avenue shortly after midnight, according to a police report from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office. The child suffered injuries to her hand, leg and arm, which required surgery, the report said.
