A passerby spotted a burning home in Detroit and helped the resident to safety on July 29.
At 5:57 p.m. the Detroit Communications Center dispatched a box alarm to 2008 Lakeview for an occupied dwelling fire.
Chief 6 discovered smoke showing from a 1 1/2-story home and requested Engine 41 to lead out.
The crew from Engine 41 stretched two 1 1/2-inch hoselines while Ladder's aerial was placed to the roof.
Command requested a third engine for rapid intervention.
