Discarded smoking materials are blamed for a two-alarm fire that destroyed a Manchester home.

A resident carelessly disposed of smoking materials in the backyard of their Manchester home, igniting a fire on May 7. The smoking material caused a grass fire that spread to the deck and then to the house which is a total loss.

The woman was home with her children and they quickly escaped the house.

Upon arrival Manchester firefighters were faced with live power lines down and water issues.

A second alarm was called to help contain the fire.
