Photo Story: Deck Fire Spreads to Attic of Ore. Apartments

No injuries were reported after a porch fire spread to the roof of a Portland apartment building on June 15.

Firefighters were called to the 14000 block of SE Stark around 3 p.m. and found a second floor deck on fire, extending to the attic.

Crews hit the deck fire from the outside while firefighters searched the building for occupants.

Firefighters climbed a portable ladder to ventilate the roof, where heavy fire had built up in the attic.

Three apartments suffered extensive damage.
