U.S. Fire Administrator's Summit on Fire Prevention Set for Feb. 4
The U.S. Fire Administrator's Summit on Fire Prevention and Control -- postponed in October -- has been rescheduled for Feb. 4.
The one-day event will be held on the National Fire Academy campus in Emmitsburg, MD. There will be a virtual option for people who cannot attend in person.
The annual summit, originally planned for Oct. 7, was postponed due to the federal government shutdown.
Organizers, the U.S. Fire Administration and National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, have been working to reschedule the session that is expected to attract fire and emergency services personnel who will spend the day discussing issues and challenges they encounter.
Among the topics include community risk reduction, emergency operations, training and competency as well as health, wellness, safety and survival, USFA officials announced.
Federal officials also are expected to address legislation that impacts the nation's responders.
Information about in-person or virtual participation can be obtained here.
