Phenix Fire Helmets Raise $20,000 for NFFF With Unique 9/11 Fire Helmet
A unique 9/11 commemorative TL-2 firefighter helmet from Phenix Technology, Inc. attracted the highest price of $20,000 at a recent charity auction for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF).
The helmet was made to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, and to honor the 343 firemen who died while fighting the assaults. The piece, which was constructed on a typical leather platform, had hand-painted accents, a fully laser-engraved underbrim with the last names of every firefighter lost and symbolic design choices meant to convey the significance of that day as well as the fire service's tenacity ever since.
Events like this have a greater significance for the NFFF. The Foundation's goals are to prevent line-of-duty fatalities and injuries across the country, help the families and departments of slain fire heroes and honor them. Initiatives like this auction earn money to support long-term programs for Fire Hero Families and strengthen the fire service's collective dedication.
The outcome has more significance for Phenix. The $20,000 transaction is four times the company's prior record for Foundation fundraising, according to internal measurements.
These kinds of moments—a bid, a pause and a final call—usually proceed swiftly. What comes next, however, lasts a lot longer. Assistance for families, ongoing memory, and a concrete reminder of the fire service's mission.
